Workshop + Performance
EnglishThe drag king praxis is a queer collective and stage praxis born in the US in the 1990s. It plays with the performance of masculinity to criticize patriarchy and binarities and/or find empowerment. This workshop is above all a collective experience of creation and reflection around drag and gender.
The workshop is held in english and open to everyone who experimented sexismus or was oppressed by hegemonic masculinities in any kind of way, and who wanna explore and deconstruct masculinities, but also femininities and gender.
Content of the workshop: history of drag, discussion about gender and the politics of drag, drag king, quing and creature make-up, lip-sync, stripping, improvisation, story-telling, how to build a performance and a show.
The workshop is donation based. You'll be asked to bring some clothes, a foundation matching your skin color and pieces of hair but the make-up will be furnished.
There will be two full days of workshop (31.05. and 07.06., and one evening of performance on the 26.06. at AHA for the ones who feel like going on stage).
Facilitator : Noé/Pétrole Désamour is a white, abled-bodied and trans* french performer facilitating drag workshops for six years.

DeutschDie Drag-King-Praxis ist eine in den 90er Jahren in den USA entstandene mehr oder weniger kollektive queere Praxis auf und abseits von Bühnen. Sie spielt mit der Performance von Männlichkeit, um das Patriarchat zu kritisieren und/oder Ermächtigung zu finden. Der Workshop ist vor allem eine kollektive Erfahrung mit Kreation und Reflexion über Drag und Gender.
Der Workshop findet in englischer Lautsprache (ausser wenn alle die Teilnehmer*innen lieber Deutsch sprechen wollen) statt und ist offen für alle, die Sexismus und/oder Queerfeindlichkeit erfahren haben und Männlichkeit dekonstruieren und erkunden wollen. Der Workshop ist spendenbasiert.
Zwei Tage Workshop in AHA (10:30–17:00 am 31.05. und 07.06.), und ein Abend für einen Abschlussshow (am 27.06.).
Workshop-Leitung: Noé The Kid ist ein weißer, französischer, able-bodied, trans* Performer, der seit sechs Jahren Drag Workshops leitet.
